New episodes weekly

In this episode of the Ocean Truth Podcast, we dig into three issues that all point to the same deeper problem: a growing collapse of trust in the institutions meant to serve Australians.

First, we look at Australia’s fuel security crisis and ask why people are panic buying in the first place. When governments spend decades stripping back domestic capacity, closing critical infrastructure and leaving the country exposed, they should not be surprised when the public loses confidence.

Then we turn to cultural fishing at commercial scale. Commercial fishers have spent years being regulated, restricted and pushed out in the name of sustainability and efficiency. Now many are watching governments create new pathways, new interpretations and new inconsistencies that raise serious questions about fairness, transparency and who the rules are really for.

Finally, we tackle non-disclosure agreements inside member-led organisations. If an organisation claims to represent its members, secrecy should never replace accountability. Boards need oversight, members deserve answers, and confidentiality should not be used as a shield against scrutiny.

This episode is about more than fuel, fishing or governance on their own. It is about what happens when trust is broken, rules are applied unevenly, and accountability disappears behind closed doors.
